The #Last90Days

The #Last90Days

Have you heard of Rachel Hollis? If not, go check her out on whatever form of social media you can find her on. Or download/purchase her book Girl Wash Your Face and then tell me she’s not amazing.

Last week I listened to an episode on her podcast that talked about setting goals. She talked about why we shouldn’t just wait until January 1st to make changes when we still have 90 beautiful days left to make the most of the end of this year.

She started a challenge last year called the #Last90Days which basically encourages you to get your butt in gear and make the last 3 months of this year count. It takes 21 days to create a habit and 90 days to change your life (directly from her website….), so spending these last 90 days focused on ramping up life to kick off 2019 on a positive note is such a genius idea!

I. Was. Hooked.

I shared this with several people as well as on my Instagram and I have a lot of friends who are committing to this challenge with me. I AM SO EXCITED!!! It’s such a great idea and a perfect way to re-commit all of our goals we put aside this year….or start new ones :)

So, what goals do I have for these #Last90Days?

  1. Clean and de-clutter around my apartment.
I’ve been there for a year and all of a sudden I am feeling super cluttery. I need to take time to de-clutter and get rid of things that I just really don’t need anymore.

  2. Donate/sell old clothes.
Similar to the apartment, my closet has just become overrun with clothes I rarely wear. I need to, and am ready to, do an overhaul of my wardrobe. Do I really need that shirt I bought back in 2013 and only wore once but I might wear it again because it’s sparkly and I could totally wear it to a party downtown somewhere in 10 years? Probably not.

  3. Teach a fitness class.
Hopefully I will have my Group Fitness Instructor certification within the next few weeks, and once that happens I would love to get into my local fitness studio to see if they need a sub or can help me start learning more about teaching a class!

  4. Read/listen to 1 new book.
Reading books are challenging for me—I spend so much time in the car that I wish everything was on audio book. But I also want to be able to have something to go back to and reflect on later. I also have a hard time reading after work because I get tired too easily. So, hopefully I can manage to read or listen to just 1 new book this quarter.

  5. Find a good balance for macro counting.
I just haven’t been able to find the right balance to count macros and lose the fat I’ve been trying to lose. Hopefully these next 90 days will help.

  6. Attempt a spending freeze; only buy necessities (groceries, gas, rent, utilities, etc.); buy all Christmas gifts in October & November.
I might be kicking myself in the butt by December….maybe I will just keep myself to a strict budget instead. I just know I NEED to be very conscious of what money I spend by the end of this year as I have some big changes happening next year that I’ll need to focus on financially.

  7. Devote time to writing weekly blog posts with thoughts from the past week.
This one should be easy, but I just need to make time to write out thoughtful posts each week!

  8. Post 2 vlogs each month.
I’ve wanted to start vlogging for a long time and just never pushed through. I think I could manage posting 2 videos a month this challenge. They might be super old school and unprofessional, but I’ll get them done!

  9. Treat my nieces to a fun day out (together or separate days each).
They both deserve some love and attention from their aunt since I don’t get to see them often, so I think taking them each out on a separate day for a separate adventure would be a lot of fun!!

  10. Do planks & push-ups everyday.
I try to do this every month for a challenge and for some reason I just can’t pick this habit back up again! Ugh! I want to start this habit again, so I’m making it a priority this challenge.

I have plans to meet with a co-worker each week over lunch to go through our lists together (which makes me SO happy!), and I know my bestie has a list of goals she is working on as well. It’s just so nice to have this extra little, simple, motivation to get us going and make the rest of 2018 the best it can possibly be!!
